The system is 220 volt 50 Hz, requiring European style adapter non grounded. If a traveler and forget ask at hotel desk. They can usually be found quite readily at smaller electric shops and also Radio Shack. Here is a useful site for tourist applications: Link
If moving here beware of fact nothing is grounded. I have installed a earth fault leakage detector and finding these is rare, and then finding a electrician that knows how to install, is even more of a challenge. Leave a comment if you wish more specific advice.
Also before moving in have your breaker box checked and the wiring configuration before the meter. I speak from experience as I did not and one day the wiring started shorting with sounds like gun shots going off, sparks, fire, filled house with acrid smoke - and no way to isolate on city side. Had to wait until it burned the wires off. What mess and took some time to repair. But in end had it done properly with three phase isolation switch upstream of meter. No man made connections this time,
Root problem was the wire connections where only crimped by hand then all three wires wrapped in tape to hide the mess. Was a disaster waiting to happen.
As I mentioned finding a good and proper electrician is not so easy as seems most are taxis drivers during day and pseudo electricians at night.
